Miami es conocida como la única ciudad importante de Estados Unidos fundada por una mujer. Julia Tuttle, una citricultora local Agricultor y adinerado nativo de Cleveland, fue el propietario original del terreno sobre el que se construyó Miami.

A finales del siglo XIX, la zona se conocía como “Biscayne Bay Country” y los informes la describían como una prometedora zona silvestre y “uno de los mejores sitios para construir en Florida”. MadeinMycountry Caribbean sea

The Caribbean Sea is a sea of the North Atlantic Ocean in the tropics of the Western Hemisphere. It is bounded by the Greater Antilles to the north from Cuba to Puerto Rico, the Lesser Antilles to the east from the Virgin Islands to Trinidad and Tobago, South America to the south from the Venezuelan coastline to the Colombian coastline, and Central America and the Yucatan Peninsula to the west from Panama to Mexico.

The Caribbean Sea is one of the largest seas on Earth and has an area of about 2,754,000 km2 (1,063,000 sq mi). The Caribbean Sea has the world’s second-largest barrier reef, the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. It runs 1,000 km (620 mi) along the Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, and Honduras coasts.

The region around the Caribbean Sea, including the numerous islands of the West Indies and adjacent coastal areas in the mainland of the Americas, is known as the Caribbean.

The Caribbean is the home of about 9% of the world’s coral reefs, covering about 50,000 km2 (19,000 sq mi), most of which are located off the Caribbean islands and the Central American coast. Among them, the Belize Barrier Reef stands out, with an area of 963 km2 (372 sq mi), which was declared a World Heritage Site in 1996. It forms part of the Great Mayan Reef (also known as the MBRS) and, being more than 1,000 km (600 mi) in length, is the world’s second longest. It runs along the Caribbean coasts of Mexico, Belize, Guatemala and Honduras.

Since 2005, unusually warm Caribbean waters have been increasingly threatening the coral reefs. Coral reefs support some of the most diverse marine habitats in the world, but they are fragile ecosystems. When tropical waters become unusually warm for extended periods of time, microscopic plants called zooxanthellae, which are symbiotic partners living within the coral polyp tissues, die off.

These plants provide food for the corals and give them their color. The result of the death and dispersal of these tiny plants is called coral bleaching and can lead to the devastation of large areas of reef. More than 42% of corals are completely bleached, and 95% are experiencing some type of whitening. Historically, the Caribbean is thought to contain 14% of the world’s coral reefs.

MadeinMycountry Africa

Africa is the world’s second-largest and second-most populous continent after Asia. At about 30.3 million km2 (11.7 million square miles) including adjacent islands, it covers 20% of Earth’s land area and 6% of its total surface area. With nearly 1.4 billion people, it accounts for about 18% of the world’s human population. Africa’s population is the youngest among all the continents. Average age in 2012 was 19.7, when the worldwide median age was 30.4. Based on 2024 projections, Africa’s population will reach 3.8 billion people by 2099.

Africa is the ‘cradle of humankind’. Fossils found in Africa, show that human beings and their closest relatives the gorilla and chimpanzees were born and evolved in Africa.

There are 54 countries in Africa today, according to the United Nations. Africa is the second largest continent in the world. Africa is home to the world’s largest desert and home of the world’s longest river: The Nile. Most of the world’s diamonds come from Africa (around 95% as well as 50% of the world’s gold) and it produces 70% of the world’s cocoa beans!

The continent has up to 90 percent of the world’s chromium and platinum. The largest reserves of cobalt, diamonds, platinum and uranium in the world are in Africa. It holds 65 per cent of the world’s arable land and ten percent of the planet’s internal renewable fresh water source.

Africa, the second-largest continent, is bounded by the Mediterranean Sea, the Red Sea, the Indian Ocean, and the Atlantic Ocean. It is divided in half almost equally by the Equator. The continent includes the islands of Cape Verde, Madagascar, Mauritius, Seychelles, and Comoros.

The number one reason for travellers visiting Africa is to embark on a wildlife safari or climb Kilimanjaro. While Africa certainly has some of the most extensive wildlife viewing opportunities and one of the seven summits, there are many other reasons to travel to Africa.

Visiting Africa for the first time is an experience beyond description. It is a continent brimming with magic – from it’s immensely beautiful and diverse landscapes to its cultural richness and lifechanging wildlife encounters.

The Nordic countries (also known as the Nordics or Norden ‘the North are a geographical and cultural region in Northern Europe and the North Atlantic. It includes the sovereign states of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden; the autonomous territories of the Faroe Islands and Greenland; and the autonomous region of Åland.

The Nordic countries cluster near the top in education, economic competitiveness, civil liberties, quality of life and human development. Each country has its own economic and social model, sometimes with large differences from its neighbors. Still, they share aspects of the Nordic model of economy and social structure to varying degrees. This includes a mixed market economy combined with strong labor unions and a universalist welfare sector financed by high taxes, enhancing individual autonomy and promoting social mobility. There is a high degree of income redistribution, commitment to private ownership and little social unrest.

“Nordic countries” include Norway, Sweden, Denmark (including the Faroe Islands), Finland, and Iceland. These five countries use the Nordic Council to work together on political and cultural activities. Denmark, Sweden, and Finland are also members of the European Union, but only Finland is part of the eurozone, meaning that it uses the Euro as its money. The other Nordic countries still use their own money, called krone or krona (from the word “crowns”). Norway and Iceland, which are not members of the EU, are members of NATO and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). Only Denmark, Sweden and Finland are members of both the EU and NATO.

The very low population density in much of Scandinavia, except Denmark, means that there is often more nature preserved in these countries, resulting in the beautiful forests, tundras, and fjords that you’ll find across the Nordics.

The Norwegian fjords are one of nature’s most spectacular creations. Their long, serpentine shores traverse picturesque landscapes, while their calm waters welcome travelers all year long.

The Geirangerfjord is among the most famous and most visited fjords in Norway, and not without reason. The area is on the UNESCO World Heritage List for its outstanding beauty.

Northern Norway is dark from afternoon until late morning, when the northern lights frequently soar across the sky. Our bold claim is that this part of Norway, with its multiple islands, deep fjords and steep mountains, is among the world’s most beautiful and interesting places in which to see the northern lights.

Nordic citizens experience a high sense of autonomy and freedom, as well as high levels of social trust towards each other, which play an important role in determining life satisfaction.

As the Norwegians say..Scandinavians do not live “in nature” but rather live “with nature”.
